Bryan was first elected as Mayor of Kingston in 2014. Over the last four years he has worked to attract new jobs and businesses to our city, and to make new investments in the waterfront, neighbourhood green spaces, transit and housing. He has also brought a new collaborative approach to City Council, encouraging important debate on key issues while also promoting a respectful, team-oriented approach with everyone around the Council table.
Bryan has been a resident of Kingston ever since he first moved here in 2000 to attend Queen’s University as a graduate student. After obtaining his Master’s and PhD in Economics at Queen’s, he joined the economics faculty at Royal Military College where he has worked as an assistant professor since 2006. Bryan first ran for city council in 2010 in Trillium District, and he still lives in the city’s west end with his wife Shyla and their two boys Judah and Micah.
