I believe some of the best qualities in a leader come down to one's willingness to never stop learning, never stop growing and never shy away from change when it is change for the better. In fact, I believe that if you want to be a success in any area of your life, you can’t be afraid of new opinions, ideas and perspectives. 

The future of Kingston's success depends largely on our ability to recognize and embrace unseized potential within our city - and taking hold of this potential involves nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities. Last week I attended a couple of events that have definitely inspired me in precisely this area. 

The grand opening of my campaign office embodied all the things I love about Kingston: passion, diversity and a great energy. Even if you missed the event, you can check out my speech as well as some photos.

2014 year marks the first year Kingston residents will be able to vote remotely via the phone or Internet in their municipal election. This is an exciting development for Kingston voters. The remote options make voting easy, and, as a result, the process is likely to encourage more people to cast their ballots. 

After knocking on over 10,000 doors in Kingston, I'm thrilled to open mine for the grand opening of my campaign office. I invite you to join me this Saturday morning and enjoy a cup of coffee, some refreshments and share your thoughts, ideas and concerns. 

When Planets and Platforms Align

I left Tuesday evening’s council meeting buzzing with excitement. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I was actually thrilled by an engaging discussion on the Poverty Reduction Initiative, a coalition between the United Way, the City of Kingston and Kingston Community Health Centers. It turns out the next phase of the project is set to look at employment.

This coming Saturday, September 27th marks the grand opening of my campaign office and I’m thrilled to be throwing open the doors and welcoming the Kingston community to join me to celebrate. Come to talk about the issues that concern you most.
