2026 Campaign Platform
Kingston faces a pivotal moment. Economic uncertainty, housing affordability challenges, rapid technological change, and growing demands on public services require experienced leadership and a clear vision for the future.
Over the past twelve years, I have worked with residents, businesses, institutions, and community organizations to keep Kingston moving forward. Together, we have expanded housing, attracted investment, maintained one of the lowest property tax increases among major Ontario cities, and built strong partnerships to tackle complex challenges.
My commitment is to ensure Kingston remains a city where families can afford to build a future, seniors can age with dignity, and businesses can grow and create opportunity. It has always been about building community, and we need to continue doing so.
My goal is simple: to continue building a Kingston that is more affordable, better connected, safer, and ready for what's next.
Affordability and Cost-of-Living Relief
Residents need confidence that Kingston will remain an affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.
Expand Affordable Transportation Options
Strengthen transit service on high-demand routes.
Explore more efficient options for Kingston to expand affordable, convenient transit service to the city's rural and suburban areas.
Improve active transportation connections between neighbourhoods, campuses, and employment centres.
Introduce New Food Security Strategy
Continue funding for community-based programs addressing food insecurity.
Increase access to healthy food across the city and continue to facilitate the collaboration and coordination among food service providers.
Expand opportunities to redirect surplus food to those in need.
Create Better-Paying Jobs
Expand employment lands and business parks.
Attract investment in advanced manufacturing, clean technology, health sciences, and defence industries.
Make it easier and faster for local businesses and entrepreneurs to expand and create more jobs.
Keep Taxes Contained
Continue to keep annual property tax increases among the lowest of all major Ontario cities.
Use growth-related revenues to help offset future pressures on taxpayers.
Housing That Works for Everyone
Housing remains the defining challenge facing communities across Canada. Kingston must move beyond simply approving housing projects to become an active partner in getting homes built.
Launch a New Public Housing Initiative
Make the City an active leader in the construction and acquisition of new non-profit and affordable housing.
Create dedicated City support teams to move housing projects through the approval process faster.
Expand affordable and attainable housing options across all neighbourhoods.
Unlock More Land for Starter Homes and Attainable Housing
Identify parcels of land for the construction of more starter homes and transit-friendly neighbourhoods.
Adopt a simpler and more flexible planning framework that makes it easier to build the housing we need.
Work with senior levels of government to unlock surplus provincial and federal properties for housing.
Continue collaboration with regional mayors to coordinate housing growth, infrastructure, and transportation planning.
Address Homelessness Through Action
Continue to expand transitional and supportive housing options.
Support community-based solutions that help individuals move toward stability.
Advocate for necessary investments and support from the provincial and federal governments.
Vibrant Community Spaces and Safer Neighbourhoods
Great cities are great communities.
Revitalize Community Gathering Spaces
Advance improvements to Confederation Basin, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, the Memorial Centre, and other key community spaces.
Continue to invest in parks, trails, waterfront access, and other important natural green spaces.
Launch a community visioning exercise for the future of the public green space at Lemoine Point Farm.
Explore new ways to support recreational activities and neighbourhood gatherings that foster connection and combat social isolation.
Deliver Major Community Projects
Improve access to health care by advocating for important projects, including a much-needed new hospital with a health care campus and continued recruitment of family physicians.
Continue to advocate for a permanent replacement for the LaSalle Causeway.
Dedicate new funding for large-scale road repair and rehabilitation across the city.
Work to strengthen transportation options to and from Kingston.
Improve Community Safety
Continue implementing special constables to complement police services and bolster safety in public spaces.
Support strategic investments in policing and emergency services.
Work with local health care agencies to improve access to mental health and addiction services.
Leadership That Brings People Together
At a time when politics has become increasingly divided, Kingston needs leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers results.
My campaign is built on a simple belief:
We can build a more affordable, better connected, safer, and more prosperous Kingston.
I’m proud that my leadership has fostered a collaborative community. Together, we will continue to address new challenges and build a thriving Kingston.
Proven Leadership. Practical Solutions. Ready for What's Next.
